I talked to Ivan Volodin, founder of One Page Studio, over the weekend, and he let me know that in addition to developing applications and services for One Page Studio (more on that to come), his developers are also available for outsourcing on special projects. So if you're in need of some very clever Russian developers at reasonable prices, e-mail me at timtrowbridge@hotmail.com, and I'll hook you up with Mr. Volodin.

I just got an e-mail message from Anne and John Flanigan letting me know that they read my blog. Anne and John were formerly my professors at Hawaii Loa College. Anne was my advisor and taught all of my mathematics courses, while John taught computer courses and was in charge of the computer center, where I worked between classes.
Hawaii Loa College got taken over by Hawaii Pacific University in 1992. I was a member of the last Hawaii Loa College graduating class. I tried to find some photographs of the Hawaii Loa College campus on the Internet, but there are surprisingly few. Click here for some photos that are on the Hawaii Pacific University website. These photos are OK, but they don't do the campus justice.

I'm scheduled to run sixteen miles this Saturday with the Premier Sports Marathoner in Training (MIT) group. The real work is about to start - the Columbus Marathon is less than three months away! It was about this time last year that I developed a stress fracture, so I have to make sure I stay injury-free this year. I can say with confidence right now that if I stay injury-free, I'll run Columbus this year, but I'm not sure of my plans after that.
Also, I picked up the novel Geeks by Jon Katz at Half Price Books this weekend. It should be a good read.

I just got the following e-mail back from Will Ferguson, author of Hitching Rides with Buddha and Happiness:

Thanks Tim.
Glad you to hear you enjoyed Hitching Rides and Happiness. Always good to hear from a former JET. ("When you're a JET, you're a JET . . .")
Cheers,
Will Ferguson
I'm not sure what he means by "When you're a JET, you're a JET . . ." It must have some deep philosophical significance. I'm still trying to figure it out.

I'll definitely be taking a trip down to the Jazz & Rib Fest this weekend. It's one of the best summer festivals in Columbus. I'm certainly looking forward to it.
Also, I'm getting in the habit of hanging out at the Cup 'O Joe's MoJoe Lounge in Easton after my workouts. I like to just sip on a green tea, read a good book, and relax. I picked up a bargain book at Barnes & Noble called The Laws of Evening by Mary Yukari Waters. That's what I'm reading now.

Today I talked on the phone with Ivan Volodin, founder of One Page Studio. While I can't discuss the specifics, he let me know about a really exciting idea that he has for the company. The moment I heard it I knew that this was a great idea. I mean I was pretty blown away.
I'm now thoroughly convinced that he's on the right track, and I fully expect him to be successful. Be on the lookout for more information in my blog about this great idea as it is rolled out and becomes public.

I just found out that Craig Gray, my friend and former co-worker at Aelita Software, started his own blog. Click here to take a look!

Today I ran with the Premier Sports Marathoner in Training (MIT) group - we went thirteen miles. I'm enjoying these shorter runs (yes, thirteen miles is short), but it remains to be seen how motivated I'll be when the runs start getting longer.
I've run four marathons, doing my long runs with the Premier Sports MIT group and my runs during the week on the treadmills at LifeTime Fitness in Easton. I'm very grateful to Jeff Glaze, my friend and founder of Premier Sports, for the MIT Program. Without Jeff, I don't think the thought of running a marathon would have ever occurred to me. I don't think I'll keep running marathons forever, but maybe I have one more in me - I'm not sure.

Well, unfortunately my car died, so I had to get a new one. I expected that my dead car was pretty much worthless, so I put an ad on craigslist asking for an offer and informing whoever was interested that they would have to tow it away. Within a couple hours I had about ten e-mails and five voice messages with people who were interested. I was very surprised. In the end the person who I sold it to also had a car for sale, so we ended up swapping cars with me paying the difference. Hopefully my new car will last for a while.
Also, I just found out that my friend, Ivan Volodin, founder of One Page Studio, is reading my blog. As I told him over the phone, he's the first person who I'm aware of (other than me) who's reading it. Exciting!
In addition, I'm currently reading Hitching Rides with Buddha by Will Ferguson and enjoying it very much. From what I can tell, he was on the JET Program about the same time as me. I'll have to e-mail him after I'm finished and tell him how much I enjoyed his book. Actually, this is the second book by Will Ferguson that I've read. The first was a novel called Happiness - a very, very funny book.
Next up is Who Moved My Blackberry? by Lucy Kellaway.
